Why this blog exists
For years I kept notebooks that nobody read. Fragments of thought, lists of books, descriptions of strangers on buses. Just Me Thoughts is the public version of that private habit — not because I needed an audience, but because writing for someone, even an imagined someone, makes the sentences clearer.
I work part-time in communications and spend the remaining hours reading, walking, and editing drafts until they sound like me. This blog is not a business. There are no products to sell and no sponsored content. It is simply a record of attention paid to ordinary things.
What you will find here
Posts fall into a few loose categories: morning reflections, neighbourhood observations, notes on reading and writing, and occasional essays about change — moving flats, learning to cook properly, the shifting texture of friendships in your thirties.
I publish when a piece feels finished, not on a fixed schedule. Some months bring four posts; others bring one long essay. Quality of attention matters more to me than frequency.
A note on voice
I write in first person because these are my thoughts, plainly stated. I avoid jargon and keep paragraphs short enough to breathe. If a post does not feel honest after the third draft, it stays in the notebook.
